Unleash Your Fingers
This is a really cool video I found that uses after effects. It's a Samsung phone commercial that uses the phrase 'Unleash Your Fingers' It's a really good concept for advertising and I think it works well with selling the phone because I imagine this commercial would catch most peoples attention on television. Watching this also made me a bit more interested and excited about learning how to use after effects.

Motion Design: Assignment 1
This is my animation for the first Motion Design assignment using After Effects. It was fairly simple to do but I'm not very familiar with the program so it took me close to 2 hours. I also did a lot of just playing around with different effects and layouts you can use in the program which was cool. The next assignment should be fun.

My Pug Creatures
I know a lot of people say that pugs are ugly little alien creatures that look like they've had their faces smashed flat with an ironing board, but I love these little critters to death and I miss them quite a bit too. Even if all they do is eat and sleep. The one up front is my slender friend Mandrake, she's a very earnest and curious dog. The one poking her head up in the back is my chubbier friend poppy. She is a little less active and a little more interested in food and sleep. Their charming eyes and floppy ears get me every time... even if they do look like aliens.
Zero Dark Thirty
Last night a couple of friends and myself decided to go see the 10:45 p.m. showing of 'Zero Dark Thirty'. It was a very well made film by the great director Kathryn Bigelow. It shows the story behind the take down of Osama Bin Laden. They start from the terrorist attacks on September 11th 2001 and then follow the story of the girl (Maya) who is hired by the CIA to hunt the man behind the attacks. The movie pans through a decade long hunt to find him, at the same time there are attacks being made in various places. It was pretty interesting to see how it all happened, I'd be curious to know how much was changed in the film from what actually did go down. Although it was a pretty good film I don't believe it lives up to the standards of 'The Hurt Locker'. It was a very long movie (2 hrs. 37 min. I believe) and I thought there could have been a bit cut out without hurting the story. I'd probably need to see it again to give it a better judgement since I was so tired last night. I do have to say the ending scene when they finally kill Osama is pretty amazing.
